The result of many months of careful experimentation and endless A/B testing, the original “markl Mod” for Denon headphones successfully transforms their AH Series of stock headphones into truly world-class transducers of breathtaking poise and beauty.

 

The original markl Mod not only corrects some known issues with the stock Denon phones, it also greatly enhances overall performance. Reaction to these mods has been overwhelmingly positive. Now Lawton Audio, inventor of the markl Mod, is offering the public these upgraded Denons, painstakingly modified with over three hours of labor.

 

Such a radically transformed series of headphones deserved a new name, so some in the headphone geek world began referring to them as “MDXXXX” (a markl modified AH-D2000, is therefore a MD2000), with the “M” short for “markl”, of course.  Even though markl Mods is now officially Lawton Audio, we thought we’d stick with these popular designations.  

 

While the MD Series represents the basic level of upgrade we offer for Denon headphones, we think you’ll agree that the amount of improvement they provide is nothing short of dramatic.

Q: Does Lawton Audio maintain a stock of MD Series headphones ready to ship?

A: In general, we have supplies of the stock phones on hand, awaiting modification. To complete the mod, we usually require 5-10 days depending on workload at any given time.

 

Q: Can I provide Lawton Audio with a stock headphone I already own and have it modified?

A: Yes, absolutely. The cost of the basic markl Mod, if you provide the headphone is only $129 (plus return shipping). Turn-around varies between 5-10 days after we receive your phones.
